Guess I am in luck

Have patience when fragging this as it is very colonial and you could wipe out the whole thing if it is not already comfortable in your tank.

Good luck.

Guess I am in luck. This is the frag I got less than 3 weeks ago and it's already stuck to the rock and growing. It's now at least 2 to 3 times the size from then. One thing though, correct me if I am wrong in this assumption, it looks like I do not have enough light for it and it becomes thinner in proportions than the original colony.

This is pcs 4-5" across

good to hear it is growing fast...
do you have a pic of it?
couldnt it be thinner simply because it is younger?

Dmitry, i added you to the wait list as per your PM.

Oops, Pics added

Pics added back to post #21. Is this the same kind as yours?

Also I noted one more thing, what do I have to add to give them more color. The original colony in my friend's tank has more color, so I presume my system is missing some nutrients or whatever.....

WingoAgency,

I think to answer that question we need to know a little more about your setup vs. your friend's (Light, Phosphate, Nitrate, PH etc.).

And maybe in a new thread? Xenia Color!

My light sxxks for sure. Only a PC 4 x 65W and they are dual daylight not 10000K and the dual actinic is having red in one side of the tube. Already promised to purchase new ones from another MR member but never have a chance to meet. I think this PC will do wonders for my FW plants though.

BACK TO TOPIC
I still think this is a blue Xenia since the blue is very intense when crumble up

well according to the article, if it is a Xenia, then it is the Silver-tip Xenia, unless it is of another Genus of Xeniid.
