WTB Eggcrate

They didn't have any at the home depot near me. I'm trying to build a small media rack for my AIO tank. I'm in Brooklyn, 11215. Preferably would like to stay around Park Slope area if possible. LMK.

Josh, if you went to HD and asked for 'eggcrate' I can virtually guaranty they said they don't have any. It is actually called 'light diffuser' and it is normally found in one of two locations at HD. Either in the lighting department, by the fluorescent fixtures, or in the department that stocks ceiling tiles for drop ceilings.

I can physically guarantee you that if you went into HD and asked for a screwdriver in the lighting department, they wouldn't know if they carried them. Seriously, I went in asking for shimms one time and 5 people looked at me like I was from mars with no clue. I so hate that place with a passion. Lowes seemed a little better, but they are a hike for me so I never get there...there at least I asked for one of those hand shower things that go over your bathtub spout...the girl gave me that same Martian look, but walked over to some obscure area in the plumbing department and handed me exactly what I needed...

Go to lowes on hamilton , across from HD and they have it, and yes it is light diffuser ! I went through the same thing

No, not light diffuser sheet....just 'light diffuser'. If you give them too much information or superfuous words they'll look at you like a deer in headlights. You'll be better off if you go to the lighting dept and look by the fluorescent fixtures or to the tile dept and look by the ceiling tiles by yourself, you're more apt to find what you want. If you don't find it, ask for a dept manager in lighting or tile. They should be able to find it for you.

agreed look for it yourself, everyone at HD is half an idiot...you're better off going to the section and searching for it yourself

BTW, Home Depot does call it "egg crate". Try and go to the customer service desk and ask them to look it up. It is normally with the fluorescent lighting.
