I want to purchase a reefkeeper.My choice is between the reefkeeper lite basic and the reefkeeper lite plus anything more and I would need to save up (cause my wife thinks that I spend too much on my tank).can anyone help me to decide

Unless you expect to have a much more complex system later on, you should be happy with the lite. It will run your lights, monitor temp. Shut down your heaters if it gets too hot, sound an alarm at the same time. Adding more outlets is simple and unless you plan on heavy monitoring or much more automation, you wont soon outgrow it.

If you do plan on needing more features, take a look at the Neptune systems. I think there are more options with them. I like their wireless control of powerheads and lighting, the web interface and overall design. But again, if all you really need is a glorified timer, stick with the RKL basic.
