decision about buying a skimmer

hey guys i need help in deciding if this skimmer will be a good buy i've been searching online trying to find one like it but came up with nothing

Hey duke samksy sent me a pm telling me that in the summer the pump runs really hot and that i will need a chiller in order to run it.
is that true have you experienced that with yours .

that skimmer is similar to a MRC skimmer, you will need a pressure rated pump.

I use a TurboFlotor in my sump with an Ocean Runner pump and I like it. IMO no one skimmer fits every situation.

Pressure rated pump is the best for Breckett skimmer. and these pump are high wattage....use more electricity and produce MORE heat.

I suggest you talk to Custom King (Jeff) and have him run it for you, and let him suggest a pump. It's his skimmer, so I'm sure he knows what is best for it

The person that is selling you this skimmer! What information has he or she given you regarding this skimmer as to brand, model or history of where it came from? That's a start.

If the skimmer is a replica! Find out from the seller which skimmer was he trying to copy. Then you can get an idea what type of pump it will need to run. But if it's a replica, you will not find information.
Just becareful, there been past threads here on MR of several members who bought replica skimmer, just to save money and only had horror story about it.

Skimmer Issues!

Hello All,

This is my skimmer that I built. I spoke to Wayne about the skimmer, offered to come to his house and show him exactly how the skimmer works. I have always stood behind everything that I've produced. I have done work for Wolverine and in fact I'm in the process of building him a new sump when he gets his stand from Jhale :approve: Any of you can check my resume. When someone puchases something from me I give them my numbers and they often pick up stuff at my house. I'm not hard to find. I have sold these skimmers and others for years locally and on EBay. I have around a 98.5 % positive rating over on Ebay for the items that I've sold. That includes tanks, skimmers, sumps, etc. If any problem arrise I work hard to fix it period!!! No questions asked. Please check those who I have dealt with in the past. In fact most of the work I recieve is from people who have recommended me to others because of the product and most importantly because of the prices!!!

Johnny (Wolverine), thanks :approve: I know there are some sellers that sell stuff that they don't stand behind after money's been exchanged. It makes it tough for good sellers because we all get lumped together. I believe in giving a good product at a good price and customer service 2nd to none. Johnny has purchased from me in the past and is a repeat customer. He has even recommended me to others as well.

With all that being said Johnny the price of your new sump that I'm building for you has just doubled ($$$) :lol2:

hey guy's thank you for all the advice i appreciate it, i spoke to jeff and he told me all about the pressure rated pump and that it was a skimmer that he had modified
i have dealt with jeff before and he was very very helpful he's gonna bring the skimmer and pump hook it up and show me how to adjust it thank you all for your input
