i need this to feed my suncoral.my return pump is to strong so i gotta turn it off but i dont want the sump to overflow i case i have alot water in there already could do it thru it paypal or pickup at swap

What will happen if you lose power to the return pump? Sounds like you need a larger sump and not a ball valve.

Ok, but you still didn't answer the question. Will your sump overflow if you lose power? And if not, why then do you need a ball valve, if the only time it may overflow is when you're away (hard to spot feed while you're away)?

it wont over flow but it make sure it doesn't i didnt mark my sump for overflow limit yet & 10g is the only tank i could fit in a 54 corner cabinet.sometimes i just add the water enough for the weekend & gothats why i need one

Just remember when you add more water you are diluting the salt concentration in your tank. You should try and set up a topoff this way your fluctuations are not that severe.Try and get one of these in the 5 gal. that should last about two day`s:http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=3677

You could just set it up for when you go away. Put it on a chair and put the hose into the sump,your done.....
