I want to buy a 48" T-5 fixture 5-8 bulbs and with individual light reflectors. Something along the lines of an aquactinics tx5 or something like that.

If this is going to be a fish only tank, then I don't see a problem with the lights we've been PM'ing about. If this is going to be a reef, T5's on a 4' tall tank will be inadequate, unless all the coral are kept in the top 20" of the tank.
a Hamilton Light - 2x250w mh with 2x96w actinics :tongue1:What else would you suggest then?

Hmmm wierd I don't remember where I heard this but I remember hearing something like for taller tanks T-5 was the way to go. Metal Halide has a great "punch" for the first 2 ft but T-5's had better long term penetration depth.
