Thank you so much... I like challenging things and this is the most riskiest DIY project so far.. But I am happy with the results, cost and final product...

Made some progress

Yesterday I had few hours to spare so I installed my Algae Scrubber that I put together with plywood as well and same method to seal the inside of the scrubber and outside i used waterproof mold resist white paint. I have installed 3/4" bulkhead for input and 1" bulkhead for drain. I will be using cheap 48" t5 fixture that I bought from Lowes. This fixture has 2 tube lights and they are day like 6500k. We made this scrubber so that this light can sit on top of the left and right sides easily and light won't escape from top. Light will be 4" above mesh that i will use to grow GHA. I will be filling the sumps tomorrow and then once they are full I will turn on the entire system including frag tank and algae scrubber and post pictures and document the results of the outcome...until then stay tuned....

Just curious, why do you have the drain on the bottom of the algae scrubber? If there's a power outage the entire algae scrubber will empty into the sump, including the GHA. As a matter of fact, the GHA will likely flow into the sump during normal operation. Why not skim the discharge off the surface of the algae scrubber and have it flow to the sump that way?

alage scrubber

Thanks for your comment. This algae scrubber is horizontal scrubber and screen will be laying flat on the base of the scrubber and water will go over the scrubber and it will be submerged at least 1" water. I never had issues in the past that algae go though the drains to the sump so I am hoping for same result in this as well.

Thanks James for all your help, I couldn't have done it without you, Tomorrow full system will be running with freshwater and if I don't see any issues then I will be draining the tank and start washing the sand...

Looks Good. Cant wait to get the entire system running.

Ok so this weekend and I filled the entire system will tap water just to test and see how things are and I got positive results, no leaks, Tank, sumps, frag tanks are holding water fine and drain pipe is handling water flow from tank just fine and there is plenty of room in it to handle a lot more. I have two issues that I am facing right now one is pump being noisy and that will resolved by sending the pump to Reeflo they have set price of 145 that takes care of everything (Seal, any plastic part that needs to be replaced, bearings) and second issue is Oceans Motions that I am using with that pump. I don't think it turns when the pump comes on and that could be due to pressure. Yesterday I have started working on the led fixture and all Led's are mounted on the heat sink and I will upload pictures this evening. Still a lot of pictures to come.....
