Sorry, I can't remember the name, but in the late 80s, early 90s, I met a guy from the Long Is. City area, that owned an acrylic business...he had a boat and on weekends would go off shore and 'scoop up' the sargassum seaweed, and shake out many tiny Carib. angels, butterflies, etc. He had so many fish that he would give away all the extras on Monday mornings!

lol

For the past 2 years, I thought that all of our fish were snagged off of the reefs. I like that this is where a lot of fish are collected from.

Can we put this in perspective: virtually none of the fish found in a shop or on-line is collected locally. If you don't collect it yourself or have a friend who does, the chance that you purchased a local caught tropical species is essentially none.

back to restless nights :smash:

Josh, I love all those seahorses that they bred. I would love to do that as a project sometime. I like to hear about aquaculture projects in general. They seem to be doing some really great things at Atlantis Marine World, I'll have to get out there soon.
