tks! I am hoping Canon will replace it, even though the warranty specifically excludes water damage, since it was in their case. i have two more dives worth of shots stuck on my memory card until I can borrow another camera to download them.

it is doing pretty well, have some zoos and a monti cap in it at the moment. hood just needs a little painting and staining an it will be good to go.

Jonathon- tks for the offer; I may just do that if I cannot borrow one from a friend who lives up here soon. I am dying to see if the card is still good.

Sam- these were all just w/ internal flash. It works great for macro shots as long as you use the diffuser and force the flash to fire. For longer distance shots it is too weak. I am exploring an external flash for my next trip once I replace the camera.

Nice pictures. You should buy a memory card reader, it is less than $20 and much faster to download if you have USB 2.0 on your MAC or PC.

tks, I think it is a Scolymia wellsi but not 100% certain

CArd reader would be better than sticking the card in another camera an possibly messing that one up too. At least them you have only to worry about a 20 dollar memory card reader.
