need help catching a wrasse

Do you spot feed or do you just dump the food in. I would try spot feeding and have a net on stand by, done best with two ppl. I usually catch my fish that way. They are always hungry. Would love to try the fishing in the living room but dont want saltwater everywhere.......

A small sliver of:
Squid, shrimp, clam, etc. What ever u get a tiny piece of to fit the hook.

I caught my Melanarus with a hook, and got it on video in my wife's camera. Got him first shot after not feeding for couple days...
Also caught a chromis, saddleback and tomato....but not on video..
Saddleback took 2 days.

Did you try the bottle trap? I just caught mine again last night. It took about 20 mins but you have to be diligent. As soon as he goes in you gotta pull the bottle right out. Good luck.

never had one live past three days, but i know LiveAquaria has them as not a reef safe wrasse. If its in a reef style tank, you might have to just suck it up and remove the rocks and net him. Most likely he will be a nuisance in there.
If i recall i think you said you had a coris wrasse. I have the same one. I tried catching him with the bottle and he didn't even go near it. I caught my purple tang with it. I don't want to take the chance and stress my other fish or maybe injure them so i will suck it up and remove my rock work and corals to try and get him out and a blue damsel.
As far as how bad he is in a reef thank... Mine ate some snails and a clam and he constantly flips over rocks with coral on them. I have to put my hand in the tank everyday to flip them back and reposition them. It's not worth the trouble to have him in there. Good luck!
