Just like a typical SPS tank. Actually they are a great coral to be present in a SPS biotype type of tank. They also add color that SPS don't have.

Russ there are a couple of corals that they sell under pipe organ. The one with the red skeleton are usually very hard to keep and most of the time they usually die. Sean, at Aquatic Creations, has one that is doing well and I got one from him that seems to be doing well, except for the part that fell into a patch of mushrooms and killed it. But for the most part they usually start to die over time and the red skeleton is usually very fragile and breaks pretty easy. Not an easy coral to keep.
Good info. Mine posted here BTW has the red skeleton and your right it is fragile and breaks easily.

Shaun

In Sean tank he had them high up with a lot of flow on them and they seemed to be doing very well. I have mine high up but not a lot of flow on it. I would think that they would do well in an sps type tank with a lot of flow. It would be nice to see a big colony in some one tank.

There actually have been some available that are very colorful, not just the white polyps, maybe they do better.

Mine is the red skeleton with white polyp variety too. I'll try to get a pic of it in its precarious location for you. I always thought it was a high demanding coral too. This situation just made me second guess myself.

That would be nice to see, but considering how slow they do seem to grow (mine has improve considerably since I got it from Jon, and has grow alot relative to itself, but it is not xenia like in it growth at all) I think that it would be a rare observence.

What other colors have you seen Mike, and what color is yours?

I have one that was sold as pipe organ and it has a shortier skeleton, but not red, and it's red/green with white stripes. It grows very slowly as I've had it for years and it only a little larger than when I got it.

The one I got from Sean place is Jade with green centers. I lose a lot of it as it fell into a patch of mushrooms but a good chuck is still left on the sides.

I've seen some really nice coloful ones of ebay, from the Solomon Island, but the price was very high.

Ok, here's the location of mine. BTW, I can see more of it today than the other day. Seems is has grown quite nicely in its unlikely remote location.

There's no way to show the that the skeleton is the red one. Guess you'll just have to take my word for it.

Russ, I would consider taking apart the tank to get it if it was me.

I've thought about it the past two days. Before that I thought it was dead, gone, history. The thing that's really causing me to leave it there is that it was about 4 or 5 heads when it fell back there. From what I can see, it is about a dozen heads or so (just a guesstimate). But it is growing and seems content back there.

If I move it to where it's visible, the lighting and flow will obviously change. Why mess with success. It might not like it. From what I can see, it will become that large colony that you guys are talking about. Maybe it doesn't need the high light and moderate flow everyone else keeps it in. That's why I was saying it's an easy coral to keep. I can't imagine too many worse places to put it in my tank, yet it's successful in my estimation.
