Hi

I am considering moving all my plumbing/sump/fuge/pumps out from under my tank, and relocating in the basement below. Does anyone know anybody locally who does installs and maintenance. I don't have the time to do it myself, so I'd love to find someone (not tooooooo expensive) to give me a hand for a couple of hours.

Thanks

Tim and Jonathan - Thanks for the offers. Let me pull together some of the hardware (large rubbermaid stock tank and big Sequence pump) and then I'll touch base.

Jonathan - Filefish is awesome. Swims contiunously. Attacks any small food I put in (brine, angel formula, formula 1 frozen, formula 1 and 2 flakes and small pellets)

The sweetlips I'm a little concerned with. It is out swimming all the time. Seems healthy, active and fine. However, I have still never seen it eat any food I've added.
It does seem to pick at the live rock continuously. Is that normal? It seems happy and healthy (again, it is out swimming all the time, so shyness is not a problem).

Should I try live food (I don't know how it will get it with all the other inhabitants), should I move it to my fuge (where I have all kinds of live critters) or leave it alone?

Michael,
I'm really happy the file fish is doing so well, that's great.
Strange the sweetlips does not seem to be eating. Of the two fish you'd think it would be the opposite?

I think he has to eating something. If he wasn't that would be a long time to live without eating. He was eating a few things in my QT. He never attacked the food, if it was in front of him while he was swimming he ate it. Maybe he eats slow and there is too much competition for him in the tank. He seems like the kind of fish that would first in line for the food.

If you can catch it easily maybe give him a couple of days in the fuge. I'm not really sure, since you said he looks healthy. I don't think he needs live food, the frozen should be fine. If he starts to look thin then I'd take him out otherwise just keep watching him, maybe try and spot feed him with a turkey baster? Blow some food in his direction.

Hi guys.

It looks like I should have my equipment next week, so I wanted to start feeling out best days/times.

Anyone game for helping (Jonathan, House, BC et al), what day/time would be best?

Options are:
a) weekdays, during the afternoon
b) weekday evenings 9:00?
c) Sunday mornings?

I'm open to other choices as well. The only day that is no good for me is Saturday. Let me know which day works the best for the most people.

Thanks in advance.

Michael

my schedule is pretty flexible the next few weeks.
I'm working on smaller projects and can take off whenever I want to.

hope you don't mind I posted here asking people to help save the sweetlips :(

I still have that 45 tall, it's the wrong size tank for him, but if you need a tank to put him in for a bit you can have it.

I can do the week of the 27th.
This week Thursday won't work for me.
I'll figure out the rest on my schedule on Monday.
I could do Tuesday.
