I'm sure the big name brands have proved themselves to many people. But lets also keep in mind that we should all try to support local small businesses and give them a chance to prove to us the quality of their product.

Why all the attacking? I've been reading this thread from the day he posted it and man has it been a bit disappointing.

Everyone on here that goes out and spends money on sols, wingo's, radions and now vegas brags and brags. Then because its such a loved brand there's no harsh critique when the company makes some stupid video where their full spectrum LED is turned into basically a disco light show to try to enhance why they're worth so much more than other lights.

All of those brands had to get their start sometime. There was a day where AI and the others were exactly where Fathom is- breaking into the public market.

Some may have to eventually look back at this thread and eat crow in the future because there are some Fathoms hanging above their tanks.


All because a guy was super happy with what he got for his money and finally experienced customer service that was how it should always be in his eyes.

I don't get it. I get it but what I'm saying is I feel it was all uncalled for.

Regarding the $1200 bill. Richie told me the same thing. I have not known Richie for all that long. I can tell you one thing this man does not lie.


I would not hesitate to recommend the Pharos to anyone. Anyone who wants to come check out my reef next time they are in Jersey my door is open. Just PM me and you can see with your own eyes.

Fathom you have an excellent product. Disregard all the haters.

Wow, this is intense.
I opened the thread to learn about LEDs that are controllable yet affordable and found only a handful of posts out of 5 pages that were helpful.

Anyway, I've been meaning to head over to Richies...I remember when he was looking at the Radions when we had a MR trip to the NJ stores. Glad to know he found a set up he likes.

All the Guy is saying is he loves his new light that he prob busted his ass to buy, just like all you guys that got ripped off when you bought Radions and realized a few months later that they were a big waste of money, everyone is allowed to have an opinion. no reason to attack him and try to prove him wrong, if you ask a question on this site you will get 10 diff. responses and then it is your option to use what you think is the best response... Not a led guy, but here's a locals 250 and he loves them. I actually compliment the colors all the time.

Photos are not a good representation for any LED light.

Thanks Johnny! I saw this tank (at least I am pretty sure this is the tank) on the FathomLED site. IMO these look much better than the one posted on their website.

Well, photo wise its very difficult with any tank to photo well. especially a 250 gallon DD. When I take a photo of my tank (t5) - you get the same effect.

I'm not a led guy and I like these a lot, and on top of visually liking them, There's actually a lot of research done by the owner, richie and some of his clients. These things undergo and underwent many tests before being released and upgraded.

And, thats much more than you can say about AI and Ecotech (LEDs). Especially if you do some research.

Most of the people I know that own these lights or plan to own them know one thing you guys may not. This guys customer service is spot on and there's a bunch of other incentives about buying them.

Maybe the customers that have better time under there belts can show better results
As far as growing out corals ect.

Are they programmable for the cloud/storm modes on the lights themselves? Or do you need to purchase a certain controller for them to do it?

Lots of criticism here, but a lot of it is due to the lack of information of the Pharos lights compared to other fixtures. More info should have been included in this thread.

Not once were the following useful bits of info included. "Best lights ever" does not fly, and pictures do more harm than good, because they almost never accurately portray what lights look like in person.

Cree XPE Royal Blue 3 Watts x 12
Cree XPG Warm White 5 Watts x 2
Cree XPG Neutral White 5 Watts x 6
-having warm whites and neutrals provide a nice spectrum bump compared to cool white fixtures. XT-E has not caught on in the Chinese market yet, but is more efficient.
-wireless controller
-A violet option would be good to carry, but Cree does not make violet
60 degree optics used (great for deep tanks, but a very narrow beam)

This all needs to be taken into consideration when choosing lights.

Controller comes with the purchase of the fixture. It does have a "cloud" cover, but not storm ie lightning . . . etc.

I recently bought this light so I can't provide info on growth. However, when buying anything, especially aquarium equipment I always ask about warranty. I can't remember ever buying anything in my life with the seller caring as much about its usefulness and overall satisfaction than James at FathomLED. He will literally come to your house, install/program your fixture and follow up with you to confirm your happy with your purchase.

I am truly happy with my Pharos and look forward to sharing my success.

Very nice. I really do like them and am pretty sure I'll have a set on my 90G eventually. I also like that there is not 1 wavering report of James' customer service. EVERYONE that has commented on them that has them says the same as you.
