I have a 45 gal reef tank, with a clownfish, yellow watchman, rainfordii goby, and two engineer gobies. There is not enough action for me, the only one that i see swim around is my clown... what should i add to the tank that would make it look nice? Ive tried tangs but they always die on me.... what should i do?

in all honesty i would get rid of the engineer gobies, they get very large.

what kind of tangs have you tried before?

in a 45g a smaller anthias or wrasse should be ok. they swim around all day. you could also try your hand @ a pygmy angel.

Wow, sounds like you had them all. I still think you probably bought bad tangs. In my experience if you find a healthy tang you shouldn't have any problems as long as your water parameters are in line.

Good luck with the wrasses.

I kinda like the anthias idea, I think disbar anthias only get to about 4 inches, but I also agree with the engineer goby removal. They get big and they can cause land slides with all of their digging.

they all ate, the longest one was the yellow which lived for about a couple of months....

purple = 3days
hippo = 1 week
scopas= 2days
powder blue = 4 months
naso= 1 week
yellow = 6 months
orange shoulder = 3 weeks

my tank is sad .....

chalk basses are nice friendly fish and reef safe
yellow coris wrasses are also reef safe(didn't see them on your link denos or Falco's)
have you looked into fire fish?
cardinalfish are also nice and hardy additions. Plus you can get them captive raised
