I usually believe that you get what you pay for. I am shocked by the two wp25 I bought. I am using 2x tunze 6095 and 2x wp25 controlled through my apex in my 120 gallon tank. I am running the profiles at a max of 60 percent because since the addition of the wp25s it's too much flow. I added the wp40 before I added the wp25 and it was just too much flow fir what I was trying to accomplish.

I looked through the thread but couldnt find what i was looking for. Or maybe i just skipped over it. I have the full apex and two wp-25s. I just got my reef angel connectors in.
The connectors have a plug on them that I assume plugs into a reef angel controller. I assume I need to cut this connector off and wire it on to a cat 5 cable to plug into the apex. What wires on the cat5 cable connect to the black and red wire of the reef angel cable?
And, does anyone have a good apex profile that simulates the ELSE mode on the jebao controller?

This is from post number 3 of this thread

The next right side +(red) -(blue) are the ones connected to the controller internals 24+ and 24- points

For the wire to connect to the apex VDM ports, you can buy the Neptune cable ~$15, or do the following.

Cut one end off a Cat 5e ethernet cord.

Keep the following wires:
orange/white wire (positive) - orange wire (negative)
blue/white wire (positive) - green wire (negative)

When plugged into the first VDM port, blue/white wire, green wire is V1, oranges are V2
Second port, blue white green is V3, oranges V4

Thanks, i must have misread that the first time. I was able to get power to the pump but it doesnt seem like any of my profiles are working. Do the "pump' profiles work for this? I know someone said that the vortech profiles dont, but didnt know if the pump profiles would. If not, any have a weather profile that works and gives a varying flow pattern like the ELSE mode. Doesnt have to be exact, just something that changes the intensity would be nice.
Ive tried the weather profile and it didnt seem to make a difference but i may have programmed it wrong

I'm wondering what settings those with 125 gallon 6-foot tanks are using with their WP40's? I've got two and they are over powering my tank. One WP40 seems to be plenty but would love some tips on how to properly use both.

Well, its a bit excessive but i programmed the Apex for a somewhat random pattern.
It invovles 7 different profiles, 6 virtual outlets and one variable outlet (or two, three, depending on how many pumps you have). I have two WP-25s that are both hooked up to the apex through the RA cables.

Profiles:
All are ramp profiles with a ramp time of 1 minute. Note: i kinda programmed mine backwards, if you do this from scratch you can put them in order

In summary, this is what the programming does:
From midnight to 8:00 the powerheads run at 30%
From 8:00 to 10:00 the pumps go from 30%-70%-30% over 2 minute ramps
From 10:00 to 13:00 the pumps vary randomly between 40-100%
From 13:00 to 15:00 the pumps go from 50%-100%-50% over 2 minute ramps
From 15:00 to 118:00 the pumps vary randomly between 40-100%
From 18:00 to 20:00 the pumps go from 30%-70%-30% over 2 minute ramps
From 20:00 to 24:00 the powerheads run at 30%

I'm sure there is an easy way to program it but this is what i came up with.

Help wiring Cat5e to Reef Angel Cord

OK I think I have everything I need to finally attempt the Jebao Apex mod.
1. Reef Angel Jebao cable
2. 2 pin male to female Arduino cable
3. Cat5e cable
4. I even have a PWM dimmer but I don't think I'll need it.
5. Wire nuts

My problem is that last night I cut off one end of a Cat5e Cord and there are now 8 smaller wires exposed. Not sure how to connect the 8 smaller wires with the two wires from the Reef Angel cord. Do you just tie them all together so that there are now ten wires connected with the wire nuts? I've inclused some pics of my equipment laid out. Please let me know if I'm on the right track here.

So when I'm splicing my Reef Angel Jaebo cable into my Cat5E cable and I'm only going to be running 1 WP40 do I just splice the red cable to the Orange/White and Blue/White cables and the black cable to the Orange and Green wires? Or is it some other combination? Thanks in advance for the help!

Doesn't seem quite right to me, is it supposed to be PH or PF?

This may sound crazy- I haven't tried it out yet because I think it may- but I am going to put both of my WP 40s in my 120 (48")

Rationale:
-All parts of the tank gets flow
Primarily the tank in the direct path of the main flow
However, the SIDES within 4-6 inches of the pump, i.e. from the glass to the front of the pump do not get as much flow.
Actually the first 4-6 inches of the tank only get the backflow from the circulation path.

End result: more detritus build up on rocks and sand in that area. This is evidenced by the fact that 1) more sand pile up in this location due to lower flow, 2) more dirty looking sand thrown up by fish, etc in that area whereas the opposite side of the tank throws up white clean looking sand.

So...
I think I will try to put one WP 40 on the far R and L side of the BACK of the tank.
The one on the L (facing tank) will point towards the far Right to clean up the back and target the side before it sweeps the front.
The one on the R will point towards the front middle of the tank (glass) with a preference towards the L so then the wave may be forced to smash against the wall and disperse through the front and of course the left side of the tank.

I haven't done it yet. So, I don't know if this will work with how my tank is structured.

I have a lot of rock and that (landscaping) really changes what I get out of the flow.

I'll try it out and play with the settings0 it'll be interesting to see how I could vary the wave frequency and path to make best use of flow.

Tried it.
So far, it's not bad. Ha to move one to the actual side of the tank instead because the nozzle is so wide it was not able to turn to fully face the back side of the tank.

Each is on a different power and wave time setting so that my sand is not blowing all over the place, but i see great flow all around my rockwork.

Now i have no backs up though.
:(
