Welcome to MR and the salty side of things. If you were successful with Tanganyikan Cichlids you should make the transition to salt water just fine. Coral Theory is a very nice shop in Williamsbugh--On Broadway a block from Peter Luger's. You should check them out.

I'd also strongly recommend attending the up coming Frag Swap event on Nov. 17th. It is a great way to meet the community, learn a lot and if you are ready purchase amazing livestock at great prices.

Sold all of them to my LFS, i've been going to one in LI for a long time due to their Cichlid Selection (Previously Pet Barn in Franklin Square). This is just testing after resealing all the edges.

And here is where im at. 30 LBS of LR. 10 LBS of Cured rock are feeding my newly acquired 20lbs of Reef Saver rock. I'm pretty happy with the way it looks, although i do have some rock touching the back glass. I'm getting a lot of micro bubbles, but other then that i'm okay. I'll probably stack up the rock later as i get more and more, but i'm not rushing anything at this point.

Equipment at this point:
Tomms Rapid Pro Series Filter (1st or 2nd gen)
Stock Skimmer with RP system, but will upgrade to AquaticLife Internal Mini Skimmer 115
Aqualight T5 Dual Fluorescent Light (upgrading to a 4x31w light soon)
AquaClear 150w (might put in a second one since its starting to get colder out and i like to keep windows open in my room)
2 Hydor Koralia Nano PH's (220 and 425)
30lbs of LR
30lbs of LS

Still on the to do list:
Ro/Di
Auto Top Off
Build a Sump using a 10g
Display refugium? hmmmm
CUC (15g reefcleaners cookie cutter with maybe 1 Blue legged hermit)

Planned Stock List in order:
Watchman Goby with Tiger Pistol
Baby pair of ocellaris clowns (or Percs)
Yellow tail Damsel
Red Fin Fairy Wrath (Something red)

Corals:
Plan to start out with Muchrooms or Button Polyps and maybe a Xenia to get my hands wet (no pun intended)

What do you guys think?

annndddd nothing has changed LOL.

Decided i wanted to drill the tank before even adding the CUC to the tank so i might be ordering from glass-holes soon. Put the 24inch coralife PC lights on and i like the color. also kept the t5 light strip going too, just for added lights. The PC is sitting on glass sheets i cut out (on my own :spin::spin::spin:)

no corals
no cuc
no fish

just equipment, rocks and grass...lmoooo

ANNDDDD 90% done.
IMG_4287_zps68ea18ac.jpg

Have 3 leaks, 2 on the return and one on the drain. unfortunately, the drain makes noise when it hits the 45degree bend. its kinda flipping annoying. any ideas?
The T has a fitting for a 1/2" fitting so that the drain from the 10g can join into the drain of the 29. still debating on this though. but i did install a Ball valve just in case so that its kept closed.

what do you guys think?!?

cut a small pice of pipe and put it into the fitting going to the sump make it under the water level in the sump, that should quiet it somewhat dont glue it so it can be removed if need be.It loogs good so far welcome to the great addiction..

Thanks Steve, but the problem is the noise comes from hitting the first 45 degree bend, not so much from it hitting the water, although i will be making the water entry point lower
