the obvious would be where is the mag reading??????
The Cal and Mag work in tandem. If the mag is off just about all others will be too and the coral will not be able to grow or thrive.
Everything in the tank is brown like rocks that have been in a FOWLR setup and there has been high nitrate and po4 for a long time. There is no coralline at all that I can see which indicate a sick tank.
API sucks! Sorry but it does. Try a better test kit. I like Red sea but do your own research or ask around
Last I would say that in order to bring it back you may have to go radical and remove fish and coral, scrub rock and syphon sand, 50% water change, add a reactor with gfo (I like rowaphos). Then you can reintroduce the coral and livestock on a IV drip discarding 2x volume to acclimate.

get rid of the hydrometer get a least a refractometer they are so inaccurate reef tanks should have a salinity of 1.025-1.026. I do not agreed with such a large water change 20% every week should be enough. nothing happens good quickly in a reef tanks and coral do not need to be acclimated just temp acclimation is fine. gfo also must be added slowly. or you will kill all your existing coral. take it slow and steady.

don't take this in a bad way but your whole tank looks horrible.

What you need to do is

Change your current bulbs to something more eye pleasing

Run phosban and carbon in separate reactors

Get a good skimmer

Establish a good water change especially in the beginning (something along the lines of 20 -30 gallons a week) then once things start getting better you can reduce that

Setup a fuge.

this is all i can think of right now and hope you listen to the suggestions and create a work of art ;)

At this point the tank is dying! The "radical" water change solution will do two things: Lower nutrients and provide a better base line. Why save bad water? Why throw good water after bad? The fish and coral were suggested to be taken out. Think buying a new fish/ coral and bringing to your system. The water from the LFS or the person you traded could be anything and any salinity. Who tests water from the LFS when acclimating? Nobody. We ask politely and acclimate to our personal parameters Same rule applies Slow acclimation to water with good parameters.

I am not sure about that the corals are still opening a bit brown out which is a over built up of zooxanthelle they don't look bleached yet and there is a chance to bring it back. The most important thing is we know not what kind of equipment he is running on his tank or even if he is using ro water I believe we need more information about his tank before jumping the gun
