Tank Manufacturers

Getting quotes from Miracles and Reef Savvy. Are there any other manufacturers that anyone would recommend for custom tank?

I didn't want to say it...but I got a quote from them already. They are 50% lower than Miracles and half the price of Reef Savvy. They've gotten such terrible press I didn't want this to turn into a GC bash thread.


Btw, they don't ship to WP anymore. Long Island or Branford, CT. Either way it's not terrible.

GC would be 33% (approx) lower than Mir, not 50%. And, 50% lower means half the price.

I dont think they do the white plains show any longer..have not seen them in the last few shows..

Did you request anything special?, like Starphire glass on any of the panels, Eurobracing, etc.

I called Miracles and Coast to Coast for a couple of quotes each, got to admit, I didn't like the vibe I got [customer support wise] from Miracles; the whole affair was like "what you want?, what dimensions? what options?" Meanwhile with Coast to Coast, the guy gave me a 30 minute specifics interview! I also liked that C2C will provide all the necessary pluming supplies for the 3 drains and 2 returns [down to including the Loc Line for the returns]; Miracles only provides the bulkheads.

I also tried SC Aquariums, but the person that does quotes was out for lunch; they offered to return my call though.

I'm gonna send you a PM. I'm dying to know how C2C's pricing was compared to Miracles.

PM responded. I got none of the quotes yet, but I doubt mine will give you an idea in relation to yours; I'm looking at a 60x24x36 tank with Starphire on front/back and one of the sides.

Make sure to ask Kim from Miracles about their In House Custom Tanks. Tanks that clients put a deposit on but changed their minds after built. They had one close to what I wanted (60X40X20) but it was a peninsula. Price was so good it was hard to pass up......I'm still thinking about it! :/

The 40" part of it is impossible for me, the largest door in my house is 36"; although I could remove it and replace it since [God knows I've been wanting to do it but for some reason my wife like the damn door as is] it is not best looking thing. I know I can turn it on the side, but I've been told that it is bad for rimless tanks.

But even if I did that, 40" is still an issue as the spot where I'm placing the tank cannot afford me the 30" I wanted originally when I decided to get the tank.
