hey bill are you up to going to the south shore although they rarely had dolphins in the sound and 2 weeks ago they spotted a pod of a lot of dolphins as far down the as city island so you never know what one can find.

YES! The oak beach was one of the places I had marked and I believe was the closer of the two. So south shore/oak beach sounds like a plan

This is actually a good point.. I was looking at it earlier. We definitely need to correlate with the tide.

There's a nice breakfast diner by best buy and home depot on northern blvd.. I'm still not sure how many are coming but if it's less than 10 that place could work.

Couple of thoughts;
-not sure you can find tropicals in Western LI Sound, but I was diving last Sept on south shore of LI and one guy had at least 50 juvenile butterflies from about a 20 min dive.
-you need nets
-you also need to keep the fish alive until you get them home. Keeping the water cool and aerated can be a challenge.

if the tide turns out to be rising till 13:51 on 9/5/15 let me know when you guys get back. I believe that's high tide. This is for point look out, pretty close to Oak Beach, one of the listed tide tables is wrong, but I don't know why. I use this one for diving and seining.

Well... no one confirmed for sunday so I ended up going out on saturday "for a little bit" turned into all nighter and spent sunday in bed ..
