Hi Guys
So I was bored and decided to entertain this new idea of how to measure the clam on the curve, (the top of the clam)
No no don't worry, I didn't take the clams out
What I did may sound confusing, hopefully you can follow my reasoning.
I went back to the pictures I took with the measuring tape in the picture and figured out the length of each clam along its curve by doing the following. I took a piece of string and went around the top curve and marked where it ended.
So in Eric picture, take the string around the red area.
Then i took the string and measured it with the measuring tape that's in the picture to preserve the scaling. Each picture has different scaling so I duplicated this technique for each picture
so in this picture
I got the curve to be 4.5"
(it was marketed as 5.75")
clam 2
I got the curve to be 3.75"
(marketed as 5")
clam 3
I got the curve to be 3.75"
(marketed as 5")
clam 4
I got the curve to be 2.25"
(marketed as 4.5")
What do you guys think of this technique? Its not 100% accurate but I think it still proves that there is a significant discrepency between what they advertised and what is actually the truth.
even on their example...in this image
Measuring on my screen around the curve gives me 10" ( i have a 21" monitor). And measuring a straight line from A to B gives me 8". So the difference between the two should only be an increase of 25%.
