well im pretty sure (78"x24"x28") is a standard 180gal. us tank.
just FYI and all
BB
72"x24"x24" is the standard 80 g tank. 4 cubic foot is about 60 g.
Minh
Hmmm....... 78*24*28/231 = 226Gal. (US gallon). 72*24*24/231 = 180 Gal.
Minh, 4 cubic foot = 60Gal????
1 cubic foot = 12*12*12/231 = 7.5Gal
4 cubic foot = 7.5*4 = 30Gal.

Yep. I find no matter how much effort I put in to steer original posters away from stressing their fish, many are only interested in hearing "Yes, you can" or "Yes, It's possible" type of response. Most will come back posting "I have done it".

BTW, GT, what's tank size have anything to do with anything? We disagree. That is that. I know of many medium and small tanks that are stunning. I think you are too keen on this 'mine is bigger than your' thing. Having a larger tank does not mean anything at all to me.
Very true. I had (just parted the last bit out....) a pond measuring 72*48*24. In it I only filled it up halfway which is roughly 160Gal of water. Even though it's only 160Gal, the actual swimming space is huge consider the length of the pond/tank. I had the pond setup so all LR and corals are stacked in the center, leaving continuous circular swimming space for fishes. I have yet observe agressions among fish in that pond. I had up to 4 tangs and 6 other fishes at one time.
It's the swimming space(length) that counts. Not tank volume, nor how much money the tank worth.
Even if the tank is 7 foot long, if the actual swimming space is only 7 foot side to side, you can't put much in it still. Why can't they come out with cheap circular tank?
