Yea I know, but I only get the weekend to work on this stuff and I needed to get started. If you guys want to disqual me, I am fine with that. My kids and I had a blast putting it together and it looks pretty cool!

Official start date is March 1, 2005. You may commence with the planning and purchase of equipment prior to this date, but the system must remain dry until 3/1/05.

Are you going to have to drain it, or are you going to be allow to keep it as it is until the start date? How much have you done? What all have you added? I don't really care either way. But just want this clarified so you don't get disqualified.

Sigh! I drained it. I hope I get time over the next weekend to get it started again, but I talked to Len and he said that I'd have to if I wanted to compete.

EDIT: Speaking of which, if I don't get time to get it set up this next weekend, will I be able to set it up later? Will I get disqualled for being late ? (by next weekend, I mean the 1st)

Re-Edit: I am an idiot, I just read the rules for the fifth time and it says right in there that I have all month to get it set up. < sheesh!

Luckily, my tank hadn't arrived yet. I get it this morning, so I'll just get it in position and start buying the hardware :D

I didn't post that to get cknowlto to have to drain it. I was fine either way. I would have been happy allowing him to keep it the way it was. I just didn't want him to get disqualled before we started because of this. I'm sorry if anyone took it as I was trying to make him drain the tank.

Could've been a lot worse... we could be doin a 280gal+ reeftank build off :lol: :lol:

(wonderin how long that would take to empty.....)

I just did a 10G water change in the 150 using that water. :D

Hehehe, I really took no offense either way. We had some time last weekend to get it done and there was no published date yet for starting so I went for it knowing I might have to back out or empty the tank.

It turns out I had time to take the thing down last night anyway, so it is dry for now (relatively. Getting all the water out of the substrate is a pain in the a$$)

JDM, I decided that I wanted to compete and that I wanted to make sure I was within the rules so that no one complained when I powned them all (Hehehehe)

It is only fair that everyone follows the rules since podman and Len went to so much trouble to set them up! Having said that, I hope that we won't get all tied up later on in 'legalities' This is supposed to be fun! :wink:

Where is the "wtf are you doing in there?!?!?!?" thread for the nano-buildoff???

We have an OUTSTANDING setup for the participants to log their own stuff, but no thread for us to talk to each other about what we are doing?

Or am I just being obtuse?

Can someone enlighten me please?
