Notes: Skimmer is a bubble chop skimmer. Great skimmer, only have to get over slight micro-bubbles in tank for first couple of weeks or so, and then away it goes. Pulls great skimmate for my tank and I use it as the only means of filtration aside from water changes.

OK, I bought a Pro-Clear 150. It looks cheaply made compared to what I see on other tanks. Its still in its packaging and I can exchange. The LFS recommended it when I was buying most of my stuff. He was trying to keep within my budget.

What do you recommend?

Have had this baby going for about 4 years (Or since they started making them) and I really like it. A little noisy, and you have got to use vinigar to clean the jet (no access) but a really, really good skimmer for the money.

i got a aqua c ev180 spray injection type skimmer powered by a mag 7
its probably the best skimmer i have ever seen or used
i got it so the skim mate needs to be empited ever 3to 4 days not wet not dry ,i just empited it and it was about the most foul thing i have ever smelled in my life ,it came out looking like black coffie
also it is super silent another plus
