Umm no,

I found the thread to be very interesting till snake and others started the "debate".

See I could care less how it works, where it works, why it works, or whatever as long as it works. I want to see the nano as it matures and grows. This is what will get me to look into using the system, not a bunch of "you show me yours ill show you mine" arguments.

Please update photos of the nano and how its doing.

I agree with Omni2226. I dont know enough about the science of it all to debate and wouldnt care to if I did. I am however, very interested in the end results of your tests as I stated earlier so I may implement the best product possible in my system.
Please keep us posted :)

Len, I am currently working on a 90g tank for a restaurant, the tank was setup about 3 month ago had nothing but problems. The owner had decide to try the Hiatt system,
I don’t know if this is going to be a reef or not, they have not made up their mind yet.
So far it’s only 4 little damsels, LR, LS and some snails; all pervious fish had all gone to fish heaven before I got involved. Do you want me to post the progress on that as well?

Today's water test result:

temp: 82
pH:8.2
ammo:0
NO2:0
NO3:0
CA:450
Alk: 220

The babylion has grown about 1/2" since I got it almost a month ago. Beside eating frozen mysid, the lion is now started to eat some finely cut fresh shrimp from local market.

I've notice the filter is getting dirty, will need to be clean this weekend.

Note: I'll post the pic tomorrow, my CF card reader is busted. Going to fry's tomorrow to get a new one.

My apologus that was meant to be funny but some people may not see it that way.

Heart of Florida is in refrence to the area of Florida known as the ridge.
Polk County. I live one hour from Orlando or Tampa, The actual town I live in has no name.

You mean Righty? He was the last person to post.

I would still like some hard evidence other than "test" results with missing variables. Also evidence that this works in a reef system.

OMG

I have a tank that could use this as a test....

Not mine, but in a local restaurant.

The restaurant is called the Toadfish, and their tank is huge and full of toadfish.

They have to be having problems from looking at the tank last time I was there....

Actually it is funny, I look up the map of Florida and many travel web site also refer Polk County as "Heart of Florida". Anyway I was going to sugguested you may want to visit Aquatic Life in Stuart, FL just south of Port St. Lucie. Based on the map I see you are some 2 hours away may be more.
Aquatic Lift build their entire store on this system, instead waiting for me to post result by myself, it may be good to visit a store that has been using the system a lot longer then me. They do have a show reef tank that is using this system for sometime now. Just a sugguestion.

I don't get it Frag, why do you keep thinking this will not work in a reef system?
The only difference between reef and fish only tank are one has coral and the other don't.

Let's hope omni has time to pay Aquatic Life a visit, I love to go but I am 3000 miles away.

Is not that I don't believe you but is this a actual restaurant or you just made it up? And if this is a actual restaurant how do you know they have a problem with their tank?

HOT means hang on tank or hang on back.

He means taking the bubble box out to make more room.

This system relys on the bubble filter and the carbon inside it.

Thanks, I wouldn't guess in a million year.

As Omni point out, this tank was intend to use bubble filter instead of power filter. If I was to sell something like this I would switch to a small HOT filter.
I have a 15 and 30 gallon tank both are using HOT filter with no problem.

Its a real restaurant, they acutally put beets on my steak BEETS! Boy was I upset about that!

The tank looked, well dirty. I am guessing it was about a 100 gallon tank.

I might go back there sometime in the next year, I will check it out again...
