Chiller Cleaning ????

Ok I am looking for someone that cleans and checks the chiller like a chiller matnience man. Any one kow anyone that does this ?

Nick there was someone local who did this, I can't remember who though.

I hope someone else has the info on hand, it's good to know.

Bob its not a matter of just running vinegar through it. Thas the easy part. its checking for freon leaks checking that its full that its running its best to save electric. I can run vinegar through it but not the other stuff. Ill look into the link today and report back about it

I have a Pacific Coast 0500 1/2 hp

Nick I opened mine up after approx 5 yrs. The water barly made it through, the calcium build up was so thick. I have a west coast chiller.

U know is funny cause I was just thinking about this the other day. I haven't looked inside my chiller since I bought it like 3 years ago.

I spoke to Kieth form Kooltanks very nice guy I must say. And I then talked to Eric from RC. They both said the same thing that 99% of chiller faliures that people throw out there chillers for are simply fixes. Well im gonna drop it off to Keith in a few weeks when I brake down my tank and let him check it out and spic n span it for me. Throw him a email or a call. I told him im form Manhattan reefs and said most likely you will hear from others. Tim thanks for the link I mentioned you also.

Where is Kooltanks located? Did he give you an estimated cost for chiller service?

He's located in NJ not to far from me. He takes care of absoultely fish's chillers so he told me to drop it off there for him w/ my name and number

I have to agree that Keith is a really nice fellow, even over the phone he gave me some great tips and took a number of phone calls when I was having issues with my chiller early last year! Great advice!

Do let us know what he says about your chiller Nick, it would be great info to have to maintain them properly

Well I never had it done. He wanted me to leave it at absoultley fish but mine is through my wall from the outside in and would be a project to get out. He said it costs alot more for him to do a home visit
