The Japanese lords are still high priced, but they did drop over the last few years.
The two links posted by heuerfan, im guessing the 1st link are Indo lords and the second are from Japan. Is the Japanese government allowing export of there lords?

My understanding is they weren't exporting. Those $900 colonies are around $40 US dollars in Japan. This is what i was told by a few collectors here in the states. That take trips there, and get them back. (That was a few years ago) i haven't talked to these collectors in a while, RC had banned them along with a lot of other knowledgeable reefers for no good reason. JMO

there was a time collectors wont sell them, only traded with other lord collectors.

Its still a hard coral to ID, lots of lords that are sold, are not lords.
You will see 4-5 auctions a month pulled by eBay for incorrect ID of Acan lords.

There way a reefer on RC who loved our zoos, but couldn't get nice colors. He posted a pic and in the background was lots of lords. Its an old thread the pics aren't there anymore but this was his reply when someone asked if they were lords..

"yea acanthasthrea is my fav lps... i got a ****load of it.. enuff to get me on a retirement plan over there.. couldnt get 50 bucks for it around here.. ill post some photos in a dif thread tho"

Are you saying the US wont import Lords from Japan? At $900 for some colonies in the US seems like a good reason to export them. JMO

There are restriction or quota on alot of corals, like right now you seeing a flood of Blasto Wellsi but in six months they'll go back to be some what hard to get. As for Lords they're very common in the wild and the trade in the areas where they grow or are imported over seas. Also if people could import as much as they wanted the price would be no where near $900 a colony which is what your seeing with some of the other Acans and Lords.

As for Ebay pulling auctions for because the auctions was mislabel that is something that I haven't seen, I actually wish they would do it as there are alot of rip-offs on ebay. I've seen alot of corals, Acan included, that aren't listed correctly on ebay and most if not all go through without a problem. Ebay leaves it up to the seller/buyer to figure out if some thing isn't right. The only time I've seen Ebay pull a auction if the person list there website which takes away sales from ebay as people can order directly from their website.

Believe me they pulled auctions, this past winter that were favia, listed as lords and the auction was up to $300 with days to go. A bunch of people from zoosrus stopped around three of those auctions telling eBay they were mislabeled.

I know, a friend bid on one. Now they list Could be a lord but still a pretty coral.
And there websites now list WHATEVER you do DONT visit WWW.
They find ways around it.
I was selling vinyl classic yes stickers i mad while working on Saturday Night live sets on ebay then someone told them it was a Copyright Infringement they made me stop the auctions.
eBay does stop auctions if it brought to there attention!

ebay does stop auctions that are copyrighted or clones of products. I don't think any corals names are copyrighted but I wouldn't be surprised if some person copyrighted some of the names that they use for zoo's.

ebay usally takes the side of the seller, even if the buyer is 100% right. It make it very difficult to buy on ebay because of that.

Do you have a picture to show us? That is a great price based on the present "BUBBLE/Obsession" on A. lords.

I have some acan. lords that have been in my shop for over a month one of them bleached out but has been fine for about 2 months now
I'm selling them for $300 and it has like 29 heads on it. The same coral six months ago would go for 8 or 9 hundred
like everyone is saying they are going way down in price except for the ones from japan.
