Hey dubbs anything like whats described below.

The signs of Marine Velvet infection are rather subtle. Respiratory difficulties seem to be one of the most common signs. Other signs are a decrease or a complete loss of appetite, rubbing against objects in the aquarium, erratic swimming behavior, and a dusty or dull velvety sheen, from which this disease gets its common name. Amyloodinium has shown a preference for first attacking the gill tissue of fish (Noga & Levy, 1995 and Stoskopf, 1993), so once it has spread to the body, I would consider the fish to be heavily infected and perhaps beyond hope of recovery.

It's hard to tell from the picture, as it's not completely in focus. The white on the mouth, did this just happen and is there any more on the body.

Look at the picture below, is the white on the mouth similar to the white on the fish in the picture?

no he just looks really stressed out.. but he hasnt eaten at all and I put him in almost a week ago. I did a 15 gallon change over the yesterday and today.

He was breathing really heavy on the sand bed.. and now looks like hes having trouble handling the flow in the tank.. very erratic swimming.. I live in an apartment to no room for a QT tank. I really dont want to lose this one, but I'm concerned about loosing him in the tank like the last one..

Just use something to move the water around, like a power head, air pump or small filter. Also place a heater in the container and something to give the fish cover, like a rock or piece of PVC. It's hard to tell what the fish currently has so it probably best to just wait and see if the fish shows any more signs and then start to treat.

Sorry for the loses but in the future you really need to QT all your fish, especially ones that are ich magnets like Powder Brown Tangs are. You may also want to buy fish from local sources, so you can see them before you buy them. That way you can see if they're ok and eating too.

That sucks dubbs. I am with marrone, you really need a QT tank. I learned my lesson about a year, year 1/2 ago when my girlfriend bought me a banner fish from petco, we didnt acc it and then in a matter of 2 days, total devastation. I lost 2 yellow tail damsels, false percula, the banner, bicolor pseudo chromis, 3 chromis and a coral beauty angel. My blue streak cleaner wrasse and cleaner shrimp went to town on my coral beauty and yellow tang but it was too much for them. The only survivors were the cleaners one chromis and the yellow tang that I FW dipped twice. I now just got new tankmates after I did a tank musical chairs and squeezed out a QT tank. In fact I got some guys in there now from Saltwater City.

If you get a clown again you should look at tank bred clowns because they are hardier, readily expect food and arent exposed to cyanide like many clowns that are wild caught. They are little more expensive then wild caught but worth the money.

As for your tang that sounds like thats a tough situation to QT but I dont know how big the tang is. Goodluck with it.

Marrone, in that pic, what was that clown infected with?

Hey Chef, who you calling dupid?! :smash:
