How are we going to prevent getting pests into our tank from this upcoming frags swap? Any suggestions?
but ,,you should never put the anything in your tank anyway without a dip ,freshwater ,lugos solution ,flatworm exit ,and so on ,,so if you do put something in your tank and didnt do anything ,and have a prob ,,it will be your own flaut ,

I'm setting up a pest removal station at the swap. I will check frags and treat them accordingly. Kris will be helping me. At least I will try and minimize the spread of pests.

I plan on a interceptor bath, and a Flatworm bath.

The grab bags will be clean from pests since they are coming from a very reputable company that treats its corals before shipping out to aquarists.

People should also be upfront about their pest status!!

For example my tank is pest free, I have treated it for all pests and am at this point completely anal about pest introduction.

I could do both in one bath, but it makes no sense to treat zoanthids for red bugs.

I will probably triage each individual frag to its appropiate treatment.

lol, if you try to do this you will have no time to enjoy the swap.

people need to step up and admit if they know they have some kind of pest in thier tanks. and those buying should be aware they should treat the corals for the appropiate pests.

Shaun your gonna have no time for the enjoying part.......if people have bugs they could step up if they're bringing corals and make your life a lot easier at the Frag Swap.

Ahhhhh, this is the only time where I consider myself lucky. My tank is not ready therefore no frags for me. Im just going to meet you guys and have a couple of beers with a couple of you. And to remind everyone that Kris is supposed to go to Petco and use one of the pickup lines. (Can of worms?) I really look forward to seeing you all.
