Here is a picture of the light temporarily on the tank the coverage is perfect I tried it over all 3 sections of the tank and there will be no unlight spots in the tank .The picture was taken with led's in the center and 2 96w pc and 150w mh on each end notice how much brighter the center is after the picture was taken I was playing with the controls and you can change the color to look like 20k 14k 10k and anything between or full actinic . I think I could have used less leds but I didnt want to risk having spot light effect .
I have internet during daytime while available on phone after 7:30pm EST.

Glad that you did add more leds than less. There is always chances you need to adjust the color temperature by adjusting the two different color ratio.

I want to make one of these led fixtures for 36" wide x 18" deep 70 gal aquarium. I have already ordered the LED's, 24 white and 24 blue and I was wondering after reading this thread in adding some UV LED's . How many should I add ? Are they really needed ?

I didn't add any uv so cant answer that
i did the math on electric and at .12 cents per kilowatt (thats the winter rate last time i checked it goes way up in the summer)the savings from running 3 of these instead of my 3 150 mh and 4 96w pc is $180 per year remember thats at the winter rate of electric -please note this is not completely accurate just a quick estimate I didnt factor in if the buckpucks use any electric or the powersupplies other than what is drawn from them.
I imagine the big savings will come from not having to run all those fans and chiller in the warmer months
The biggest savings would come from not having to replace $340 in bulbs every year
