What do i need to do to help them multiply? I have 2 heads right now but they're sticking out of 1 base which is in a hole in my LR. The candy canes itself aren't touching anything. Can someone explain how they grow? Will another base just extend onto my LR or should i make the heads touch some rock so they expand onto the rock? Do they even grow?

candy canes grow by branching out from teh original skeleton. So it doesn't have to be touching anything it'll just branch out on its own. As for making it grow faster...the other MR members will help you with that

The candycane likes direct feedings of frozen mysis shrimp and silversides. Feed in the evenings after lights go out and feeding tentacles appear.

Position the polyps so they are at a 135 degree angle to the bottom (i.e. 10 or 11 oclock). This seems to be the best orientation to enable a natural split of the polyps. Putting them at 180 or 90 degrees makes it very hard on the coral to split.

Deanos is the LPS guru here, lets see what he has to say.

I say :wow:!! I've never heard that geometry would play such a role :scratchch. I would just feed the tank some Cyclop-eeze at night when their feeders are out.
