try guppies..they do not get big but you could breed thousands at a time and all you have to do is put them in a tank. When I had my turtles I used to buy guppies and 1 day i decided to buy alot so they would last and they ended up breeding and the tank was swarming with them i never had to buy guppies again lol

u can make anything adapt to anything if you do it slowly..humans evolved from cavemen into what we are now. I would start them off with freshwater 6.8-7.0 whatever they are supposed to be in and gradually add salt. Like I said I threw them in a tank with turtles no filter no nothing and they were fine no acclimation or anything. I mean that was a long time ago and knowing what I know now I would say acclimate
them anyway but they are a very hardy fish and should breed very quickly.

i dont think you can turn guppies into saltwater, mollies are brackish water fish thats why you can convert them. Also the mollies with eat their young too, so you need to provide alot of hiding places. And multiple females wont hurt neither ;)

i did but he did not always take frozen .u ever see a lionfish eat live they get all amped up as they go after the food.i feel its good to feed live food to this type of fish more like if they were still in the ocean not in a box of water..

Don't make your lionfishes diet consist of freshwater feeders. They do not have alot of the nutrients that the lionfish needs. Go down to the docks anytime of year and swoop around the docks/pilings or use a killie net and catch ghost shrimp. Thats what I feed my lion and he loves them. They are extremely easy to catch.

oh what docks where r they. i will take the drive..thanks
I catch mine in mamaroneck where my boat is but any harbor or dock that has calm water in it or around it should hold them. They like to hang out in the shallows. You can easily catch 100's in an hour at the right place. I would suggest going at low tide to a harbor and put a killie net down in about 3 feet of water with any piece of fish or squid or something like that. The scent will attract them all and then check it every 10 minutes. They like the calmest waters so the backs of harbors are always the best.

+1. You can't adapt 'anything into anything'.

Also, you have to use saltwater fish as feeder fish for your lion, as they're made up of different fatty acids and proteins. In other words it's not the right mix of nutrition for them.
