Picasso clowns

i know im gonna get yelled at for saying the "P" word but here we go. went to PETCO a dog collar and treats and I just could'nt leave the store without walking past the fish section looking for you know the usual stuff corals priced wrong fish labeled wrong so on and so forth. and as I walked past what looked like strange percula clowns as I stared at them some guy walks up to me and says what do they look like? I said wierd clowns well they were picasso clowns and they were $18.99 each they over a dozen.

Are you sure they were picasso clowns or just clowns where the bars weren't normal. The Clowns from ORA, that Petco carries, usually have strange marking, I wouldn't be surprised if ORA gave them their rejects.

It wasnt just the bars that looked abnormal it was the color they looked a little more kinda yellow than orange and had no black markings actually this is what i saw.

unknown if u sure that they the real deal then how manny u buy if this is true u should have like 4 in ur tank in am hoping

Is cool that they look like ORA picassos- but in my opinion as well as the little business sense I have is ORA would not sell PETCO picassos for that cheap when theyre selling them for 150 a clown nor would PETCO sell them for 18 after buying them for 150. There would have to be a difference between what they had and ORA picassos I would think.

Im telling you its a big mistake on petco's end. and dubs fyi I bought none I have no reeftank moneys this week and I have no need for them clowns they were small @ 1.5 inches

its not a mistake on petco's end, think of it this way. how many LFS do you see carrying a tank load of SUPER EXPENSIVE FISH. How many ppl do you kno are willing to give up 150bucks for a fish. ITS PETCO, they dont carry anything close to a fish of this caliber and price

I not sure that Petco would have a dozen Picasso Clowns to begin with. If they did, then they would have paid the going price for them, and I'm sure they would have known they weren't cheap clowns.

just to let you guys know, this was a major discussion on nano-reef. someone from other locations [states] found them in petcos and people ID them as picasso clowns. ive searched all local petcos and they arent avail...

i really dont know how to id clowns or much about the grades and what not. but i was following these threads on nano reef and reef central and i had called every petco near me....


when i spoke to the store right next to my house they said they had a problem with there shipment and it still hasn't arrived another store told me " they sold out in a day"

It would make sense as Petco would buy them in bulk, and then spread them around to their store.

Another member I know went to petco in middletown got 4 of these babies they look real good for the money and they gave him an extra 10% off cant beat that.
