My new BTA

I picked this guy up friday night. Typically I would never buy an anenome at all. It was fully opened in the LFS and has not opened up yet in my tank. It was about 3 inches across opened and has a nice bluish green hue to it. The clowns have not gone near it at all. The only reason I bought it was because it was 15 bucks. They had it in the ricordea section listed as a ricordea.

You sure? I was looking at shroom pics last night and didn't find any like it. When it is fully opened it looks just like a BTA

I looked those up and it does resemble those shrooms as well. Either way for 15 bucks it was a good deal

If he just put it in its going to take a little bit for it to adjust jaa- nice score for 15 bucks and hope he stays where you want him to and that the clowns take a liking to him/her/it lol.:biggrin:

It has flow but, yea just put it in friday night late. So hopefully it will open soon. In the LFS looked like a BTA not a st thomas shroom. Maybe deflated it looks like it.

if its bta or a shroom 15 buck is a good deal and if its bta give it some time if ur water is good it will get comfy and open up and by the way dont be surprize if he decides go for a walk and make some were else his home good luck tho and dont forget to feed it

yea I knoe nano, every time I get ready to do that something comes up. I have 15 gallons of water mixed and ready to go. I was gonna do it this weekend and out of the blue my hippo had a few spots of ich. He has been in the tank for almost 2 months and no other fish or anything has been added. I didn't wanna stress him out more. He looks a lot better now though

Well after today i'm 100% sure it is an anenome, It has moved from its location and is now attached in a new location. Still not opened 100% but its getting there.

You should treat the flat worms before they multiply to the point of no return. I lost my entire tank due to flatworms.

PS: I am 99% certain that is a mushroom. A lot of mushrooms look like anemones because they are biologically more closely related to anemones than to corals. They can behave a little like anemones as well.

Yea i know they look alike and I know shrooms move, but not like anenomes do. I have had other types of anenomes and this thing moved just like the use to do.
