I've had my 29g Biocube and classic clown fish for about 8 months now....the clownfish has become extremely territorial and prepares to attack at anything that comes into the tank...ie my fingers and net...I recently had a flat worm problem but it was solved with flatworm exit and a mandarin goby that was just introduced....I was so sure that the Goby , being atleast two times the size of the clown, would deter any attacks but I was wrong. I witnessed a couple on the goby with its back turned.

I left the tank for a couple of days and came back to realize the goby's tail is friggin almost completely gone with bones exposed....Futhermore, there is an obvious loss of color (whitening) in the affected area extending towards the front.

Any ideas on what I can do to try to rehab my Mandarin?

Regardless of what happens to the Tank bred Mandarin (my GF's gift to me) Its clear that I have to let this problem $10.00 clown go...I'll be posting it on the for sale forum...

What is a classic clownfish? Some are more aggressive than others. Maybe get a mate or something for the fish to host. Looks like it may be missing something from it's past and striking out.

my black occilarus will literally jump out of the tank to bite me if they see the opportunity (its happened twice so far). They hate me with an unrivled passion. It makes it difficult to do work in the tank. They seem to target the spaces in between my fingers and any cuts I might have on my hands. They grab on and shake violently like a great white would bite a whale carcass. Its amazing to me that a two inch clownfish can break skin, but they do. If my fiance puts her hand in the tank they completely ignore it, so I know that its just me they hate. It would be really funny if it wasnt so annoying.

Not to disagree with Imbarrie, but adding a mate (if thats even possible once one is established in the tank) or host will only make them more aggressive. I assume you're talking about an occilarus clown and usually they ignore other fish species fish unless they get too close to their anenome.

but anyway, yeah... welcome to keeping clowns.
