Brittle star ate my royal!

I think my newly added black brittle star ate my Royal Gramma last night. Anyone had this happen to them before?

I hear that the green species are predatory but that the black are really more bottom feeders and less aggressive. I just can't see where else the royal could have gone.
It was a decent size, about 2 in long. I just got it a couple of weeks ago and it was being a very picky eater and would barely eat anything at all, not mysis, brine or cyclopseeeze... Maybe he was sick and dying and thats why he was eaten?

I have two clowns in there now, should I be worried about them?

IMO it would only eat the gramma after the gramma died.. I don't believe it actively hunted it down and ate it up, hence you should not be worries about the clowns. Those stars are great cleaner uppers.

I had one that I suspect ate the tail off my eel. It is in a quarantine tank now waiting to be sold. Until then I really liked it. Fun to watch.

I lost a clown a couple of days ago, and there is NO evidence of it in the tank. I have a star that is about 6 inches from arm to arm. Could it be that he got my clown? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...

Well I finally found my gramma, sick and dying behind some rock. I had to move around my LR just to get to him.

Guess I jumped the gun thinking my brittle star did this but he just looks so mean and I figured the royal wandered into his cave and he didnt like that.

The royal wouldn't eat so I'm guessing he starved himself to death poor guy
