im getting tired of every day picking my clam up because it got knocked over. i have him laying on a thin, small, flat piece of LR in the sand bed. his foot sticks to it pretty strong... but randomly he will be on his side once a day. i moved that flat rock around a few times in new places in the sand but still, gets knocked over. i actually think its my harliquin basslet. the fish sits next to it all day. is it better to just place him on the sand bed? or shove him down a little into the sand? i always thought they needed something to stick their foot to, but i see alot of people laying them right into the sand, and some in their rock work higher up... personal prefrence? one better then the other or safer?

give him to me i got a spot for him plus he dont like you i heared thats why he falls over all the time lmao

he falls over because everytime he thinks of your face he feels sick and rolls over :lol2:

is it getting knocked over, or is it trying to move, because it doesn't like where you put it?

well, i have tried the same general area, within a few inches or so, only thing is im kind of empty on spaces to put in my sand bed because of other corals in the way. i have never put him directly in the sand bed yet. i do have a very thin sand bed where i could shove him down and him foot would reach the bottom of the tank and still stick out easily. i just wanted to know what the BEST placement for a clam is.

Its turn over to get the other side of him tan... Lol

true. my clam may have came from the jersey shore and is just trying to fit in with everyone that was tan from over there... aka the jersey shore house lol...

right now the clam is still on the rock, but turned to the side. he was straight last night and when i woke up and looked, he is now turned to the left a bit. it seems to be mainly at nights it moves...

You might not have enough PAR hitting the bottom of your tank to keep those clams down there. Derasas aren't that demanding but the maxima is going to need good light. You might want to move them up to the rock structure closer to the lights.

well its a 46 bow with a reef brite led strip, 3 current Lumen LED strips, and TEK Elite 6 bulb t5 running KZ, ATI & Giesmann bulbs. i was thinking it was just flow knocking it over. like i said usually at night is when the clam gets knocked over. last night was the first night i put both my mp10wes into "night mode" and he did not fall over.
