Ok so I was toying with idea of a built in tank if I bought my inlaws turns out I bought a different house and am leaning towards a marineland 300 gal
My biggest concern is the lighting wans thinking doing 2 t5s in front and back of tank then 3 led maybe vortex radion not sure but something similar!
Would that be enough?

Man tough crowd lately!
Lets start with anyone out there have marineland 300 set up for sps ?

I have a Marineland 300DD SPS dominant and I'm running 3x250w 14k MH and 4x 72" VHO's.

I thought about switching to LED's but it would probably take 6-Radions to cover my tank. It would take along time to recoup that cost to justify switching.

You're going to get a lot of different opinions on this one. You should definitely check out each fixture youre considering in person. I love my Ecotech Radion, and I've seen a lot of different fixtures. You're more than welcome to check my tank out.

This tank won't be cheap to light only with LEDs though. I would look into a combination of MH with large + efficient reflectors, and LEDs. Or a number of T5s with LEDs.

Jim I would absolutely love love love to run mh but I really need to keep the electric bill reasonable on this system and will be running it pretty bare bones keeping it simple!
I can justify the upfront cost of LEDs because I'm hoping this system will be my best and last hopefully running as long as Paul bs

Never heard about the mitras
Not looking for anything too crazy dont need the lighting storms or sunrise etc
Just want solid well built fixtures that will last and if there is a issue the company will stand by it
