I just doubled the size of my pond will like to add some Elasmobranchii. What stores in New York has the best selection?

If you saw any type of Elasmobranchii in the store I will appreciate the store and species.

Thanks in advance for helping a fellow reefer out.

^ What he said. That's a little broad but there really isn't a large number of species that most stores will even touch beyond a few of the benthic sharks or smaller rays. You'd be better off picking some you were interested in and then trying to source them.

I can actually get you Whale Sharks if you had the space and budget but I doubt that's what you're looking for.

How much for a whale shark?

I couldn't even begin to guess. If you want an idea, consider the logistics of getting something that size out of the water and to it's destination. You're talking about special harnesses, cranes, lots of people, time, mobile LSS, etc. Flying a 15' fish across the world isn't cheap.

Maybe he's so awesome that by fission the shark split into two specimens of two different genus.

But really now... do you think in your wildest dreams that you can even entertain a whale shark in a kiddy pool?

Sorry everyone it's an Arabian Bamboo shark. I am not planning on getting a whale shark. The price was a curiosity question.

Unless you have funding like a state aquarium to acquire one, the answer should be pretty simple (more than you are willing to pay). Put into layman's terms.. a decent down payment on a house in NYC would not even start to cover the costs of just hiring a boat to bring one back to shore.

So unless you are someone like Bill Gates or the late Steve Jobs... The term... If you have to ask how much it is. You could not afford it.

Now I'm not saying this to be a ****, it's just being real and honest.

Thank you everyone for your help. I got two Arabian Catsharks. They are from diffrent gene pools and diffrent genders. In 2 years I might have some Arabian Catsharks to sell. Here is my new pond(pool). 12 foot diameter 42in depth.

Considering that is a swimming pool, are you not concerned about the coatings the manufacturers add to these liners such as algaecides, anti- fungal and anti bacterial products ?
Are you setting this up indoors?

I thought I made it clear I wasn't planning on buying one. Just wondering what the price of the shark was. Never even mentioned shipping.

I use a pond liner. In addition to that rocks can rip the liner and I am unsure what the salt will do to it.

Kathy I don't think he's hasn't thought about it really well.

It's an upgrade for my current set up. Which is also a pool with 7 foot diameter.I have set up an excellent filtration system. It consists of two bead filters, ozone sterilizer, UV sterilizer, a huge skimmer and denitrifier.

What kind of set up do you have?
