which one 40 breeder or 65 gall RR.

Ok here is my dilemma. I was planing a 40 breeder build. I have a tank,stand,skimmer,etc.... the things i don't have yet are overflow box,bulkheads and all the plumbing. I didn't drill the tank yet. Max reef is doing there big tank sale and the 65 Gallon RR is $180. The 65 is the same dimensions as the 40. i can use the the stand and all of the equipment i have. I know some people don't like deeper tanks but is there a disadvantage to the deeper 65? I need some convincing here.LOL.

The disadvantage is it's deeper and it's a pain in the *** to clean,place coral on the bottom,fish something out like dead fish or detritus.

IMOP I would go with a 40 Breeder.
I would never get a tank over 24h

my girl has the 65G and its perfect. same Dim as the 40B just 24" high. And its perfect. Just a warning it will get packed rather quickly. Cant wait to get a 120 already. 0.o!

also with the plumbing i dont think you will be able to use cause your plumbing is only 18" high and the 65G is 24 High so you might need to get some more pipe fittings. SHould only cost you 7$ well at least that is what it cost Us.

65 more gallons is always better in this hobby I used to have a 65 g and by the way only short people have issues with tall tanks my current 150 is 48x24x30 and am always fragging with no complaints all u have to do is place u r corals right and u r good to go

I'm short and wish i had longer arms and/or a different canopy on my 65g. You may want to look at the non rr 57g as its very close to the 65 you lose a couple inches height. And if you drill its actually more space then the rr 65. Although same applies to 65 in non-rr...

Get the 65G RR, 24" height is not bad to work with. And use the 40 breeder as a sump.

Have a 20 long for a sump. The 40 won't fit in stand.

Cmantis huh u mouth and jrsticks getting my tank in my apt was were the real renegade started that tank was going In my crib no matter I had to demo and re install the entrance door (pita)and remove my apt door easy 3 pins and I did all in one with only one of my friends pick up the tank in Wantagh and so forth
