That's the same conclusion I have come up with digi, global warming. Coraline algae growing on beer can,.... lol.....in a few years from now we can use our recycling as a add on to a refugium.

yes i know the ocean is cold in the winter ,but remember animals where here 1st.with all the storms ,huraicans and such ,the animals are finding other place to live ,just a guess ....I think its cool that ny is starting to get some exotic animals living in nature ,now we have parrots ,trigger fish and lionfish in our surroundings

every summer really cool parrots set up shop in the tall trees near my pizzeria in brooklyn (they are there because of the truck that was carrying them got into an accident and all the parrots flew away)... i always wanted to climb up there and take a baby parrot... its a pretty tall tree...

A year ago in the Bahamas, Marsh harbour (to be exact), They were having this discuss. Lionfish inhabiting their waters, this could be diasterous for the ecosystem down their. It is not surprising that they made it up north. These fish are not native to the bahamas but, are now in their waters. Migration and evolution is a bueatiful thing

I believe, It is possible for these creatures to survive in N. Atlantic waters because warmer waters are being brought in through under water currents. Some of these currents go pass eastern LI.

Where is the LIRA catching these butterfly & puffers? I have caught a puffer with a rod before but I have never seen them from just wading around. BTW how is the diving around here? I was waiting for my trip to get certified but now im thinking I should do it now before the water here starts to cool
