I was wondering if anyone uses this skimmer and would like opinions on it. I am getting ready within the next month and a half to set up two 185G tanks and was going to order 2 of these. The reason I am interested in getting these is because of the footprint on it and it will fit under the stands I am going to have made.

I am more of a MTC beckett skimmer person, but I tend to overfeed and need a very strong skimmer...

Thank you in advance...

Dude those skimmers are awesome, Pricey thought. That will be overkill for your setup. one will do just fine. 530gal heavy stock. 800gal normal stock. 185+185=370gal

If the two systems are not tied together then I think that AP702's are enough for each 185g system.
There's a point where over sizing actually hurts you. Initially the skimmer will be wonderous and amazing, then after 4-6 months you will wonder why my $$$$ cha-ching grossly overpriced skimmer is not producing anything except tea water. Large misconception is that owners then wonder why they still have readable Po4 & No3 levels and some slight hair algae growing on their favorite blue tort. When over skimming, yes you have maximized the extraction of proteins and whatever that scientific garble is for attraction to bubbles but.............. it does not eliminate Po4, No3. Helps, but does not eliminate.

i thought the 902 and the 702 were essentially the same, except the 702 is shorter so it fits under stands. They both have 2 eheims no?

I was looking at those. The height is to high the stands I want are only 40" high overall...
it would fit easy if you place the body in first then put the collection cup on afterwards..Save money. Only 1 year young. Looks brand new and all connections were not glued, Free delivery.........

There is going to be other things in the stand and a shelf. This is like squeeze and fit situation. I want everything within the stand(All equipment). Space is now an issue...

True, but over skimming will never rid those completely, thats why you need other reactors

No. it's rated alittle higher, just because the skimmer is higher allows longer contact time which allows it to skim better

Ray 2 185 gallon tanks together will have to be 8' to 12' of stand, how can there be a room issue. You should be able to sleep under there lol

This is for two totally seperate set ups. I learned my lesson by having a central system to run multiple tanks, will never do that again...
ok. i thought when you stated on sat they were going to be together you meant tied in, i guess you meant side by side. if they are going to be 6' long, you should be fine, if there 4' then you will have issue's
