Well it says that the max flow is 200 and im at about 180. I also have it come on about 8 hours. is that going to kill too much good stuff? And I still have benifichial stuff on my rock right? Will that still filtrate the water? And all that sand I have (4in in display & 6in in sump)?

I have heard a little about theses beds useds in refugium style sumps. Just wanted to see if anyone knows about them and how they work. Also if they are worth the effort.

I huked up a uv, and my tank has never been better. I have it on a timer, and it comes on about 6 hours a day. Algee is still there but a lot less. and all my corals got a whole lot bigger for some reason.

you might about it being to clean. Cause I've got a UV starilizer, skimmer for 120gal, sump with 6in sand bed and about 25lbs of rock, and a fluval 204 filled with poly filters. maybe it is just to much for the algee to grow. With all that, should I even bother with the algee?
