Lottery is a tax on people who are bad at math.

i'm not good at math but i'm great at statistics.....i learned how to manipulate the statistics to my liking.....

the odd of me winning the lottery when i buy one ticket....50/50......50% i win....50% i don't win.

the odd of me winning if i don't buy a single ticket....0%. gotta be in it to win it.

i do buy one ticket when the jackpot is big.....hey you never know....lol.

i dont think $5 or $10 a week will make or break me. one thing for sure if i didn't spend it on lottery i wouldn't have it in 2 yrs.

Yes, but only deductible against your winnings. In other words, if you don't win, you can't deduct your 'expense'. If you win you can deduct the cost of the losing tickets.
