I agree George, it's nice to have a Stadium that's named after the team and not a sponsor like the IZOD center!!!!

But maybe if they gave it naming rights, it wouldnt cost tax-payers so much money...and for little to no benefit on our end. I am from Boston though...I would be pretty upset if they renamed Fenway "Dunkin Donuts Park"

Nope. They're supposed to start the NEAT and CLEAN demolition in March, 2009.

They cannot tear down the outside of Yankee Stadium as it is a landmark (this is what I have read.) However, they can do whatever they want to the inside of the stadium.

It's the same for J.P. Morgan's original office at the corner of Wall St. and Broad St. They cannot touch the outside of the office building but can change the inside.

They are doing something. They are turning it into a park area. By the city plans the park looks like, but everything in city planning looks hot until its actually done.

I think they destroyed a city park to build the new stadium so it's only right to replace that park.

cool picutres. i was incharge of all the layout for the concrete. who is this takgin the pictures? in one of the picutres you have my company completeing the the stadium the last super structure pour.

they do not have plans 100% for what they are doing when they knock the old stadium down. but the new stadium was build over a running track and just a big open field with a few parks and some tennis courts. what the Yankees are proposing to give back is unbelievable, nothing any town would have. infact what the yankees give the kids in the Bronx now is unbelievable. i pay over 15k a year in property taxes where i live and we are lucky to have grass in the soccer fields.
