well...if the car has 600 hp and he drive it around town then its not much use..just to show off..but if the vehicle is used mostly on the track then its well worth it...
even with 160 hp...you can fly onto the freeway with no problem...but then right after you gun it...you gonna have to brake hard to slow down in nyc traffic!and then those potholes and broken road will make your *ss crack clinch hard from bottoming out or avoiding them...
its also a testosterone(sp?) issue...it just makes guys drool when they see hi tech machinery

when you say 600hp car, i'm guessing you mean an exotic.

i view them more as artwork than for transportation. there is no rush driving one to the limits on the street.

they look awesome sitting in the garage. when you start one up, it's music to your ears. you don't even have to drive them. sit in a ferarri and fiddle with it. pull the glovebox open. an exotics build quality is something that can't be described until you actually see and feel one up close. driving one is just a bonus in my book.

exactly..... i soooo agree with you... exotic cars are art, and so are non exotic tuner cars. its basically someones vision / soul put in on metal/carbon fiber. think of a beta fish bowl compared to a expensive set reef set up. which would you prefer if you wanted something that lived in water? (retorical)

Yes, I'm old.;) I like comfort......lol But I also love the idea of being able to pull off infront of those that think that because my SUV is big and heavy and I'm a woman driver that they can swing next to me at a red light to pull off infront of me when the light changes green. Not happening!!LOL

Awilda,

I'm sorry, was that you?
If I'd known, I'd never have done it.
Sometimes I can't resist pushing my Honda Odysea to the limits, which is usually about 45 MPH.

Never much of a car enthusiast.
Too many responsibilities already
If I remember to change the oil, I"m ahead of the game.

i have a 70 GTO with 750ish hp and its just plain fun ! the only thing that i regrett is its to fast for safely street driving so its on a trailer used only on the weekends .i could drive on the streets and by now way am i a wimp but its not "fair" to the pedestrians because i could seriously hurt or kill someone very easily . theres a lot of cars on the street that dont belong there for this very reason but at least i'm responsible enough to take that monster to the track ! 9.19@ 141mph in the quarter mile, little crazy for the asphalt streets in syracuse .

they are for guys with little pp's  same reason a single couple buys a huge house that can't have kids

Are you sure about that because I took my 2002 vette and built it into a 1100 rear wheel hp car that I drive on the street and track. I have 3 house's and 4 kids and never had a complaint due to size. Just one of those guys that loves extreme powered machines! I drive this on the street and its very safe if you dont push the pedal, I busted out a 8.87 @ 168 at English town. The only thing that sucks is it runs on methenol and 112 race fuel so street driving is keep to small cruses since there are no stations that pupm this stuff
