Don't worry, Messier will be GM within the next 3 years. Points to keep in mind:
Torts is not using Drury at all. Drury is a sniper. He needs to be played like one. Why has Drury not played with Gaborik all season? Torts is holding our captain back and using him as a utility player when he can be a goal scorer. He's not getting nearly enough minutes. When he gets the puck, he's always making a good play. He just needs more ice time to make more good plays.
Prospal needs to go back to playing wing. Let Drury Center the top line with Gab & Pros on the Wing. Prospal is not the best backchecker and we need that Center to come back to help out the young defense. Drury would be better at playing a 2-way game and Prospal will be free to focus on offense and setting up Gabby on the other side.
Callahan is going to get seriously injured if we don't get him some physical help on his line. Avery is suppose to be bringing that but somehow isn't. Avery is more of the dissappointment this season than anything else. Let him loose, go over the edge, what do we have to lose at this point? Boyle should center a checking line with Callahan and Avery.
Our second scoring line should be Kotalik, Anis, Grachev. I was miffed when then sent Grachev down after camp. He was the best player in camp.
Brashear should just sit.
I'm wondering if we should let Gilroy play on the wing and leave Sanguinetti up. Gilly's got some great speed and hands. Let him come back to wing (his natural position) and let Bobby's size play in the back.
We need to make a trade for a center. Trade Staal. His value is huge, and we can get a top young Center for him. Staal can be replaced by any middle aged Defensive Dman thats a good shut down checker. Package Staal and a draft pick for Datsyuk or Spezza.
By the way, Ranger's worst move of all was getting rid of Marc Savard.
