Finally a chance to start from scratch. i will be heading to queens tomorrow to look @ a 90 RR. if i purchase this tank, i will transport everything from my 40br and 28bow. i have all livestock and equipment. As for specs here goes:

Display:
about 80lbs of LS
all the LR from my 40br, 30xh and 28bow (about 90lbs maybe less). i would like the least amount of rockwork to allow more open swimming area.

Equipment:
400w mh on one side and a 250w on the other(sounds crazy)
2X65w pc for actinic supplementation
i will play around w/ 2 seio 620 and 1-820 - i think the return will be enough flow, no?

Sump:
some LR
filtersock
Euroreef es 5-2 and remora(looking to upgrade)
mag 18 as the return (looking to upgrade to less noisy and less watt pump)

Livestock:
CBB
Coral Beauty
clown pair
lyretail anthias
flasher wrasse
yellow fin fairy wrasse

Inverts:

4 skunk cleaner
randalli pistol shrimp (WTB)

Corals:
mainly LPS

i wonder if my floor will hold the 90? there's only one way to find out.

If your floor cant hold a 90g, I recommend moving out . Unless you live in a condemmed building it will definitely hold...

back from sunny florida. had a great time

i am a bit sad as i left the battery and charger for my little digital cam. now i'm starting this upgrade and don't have a freaking cam to post pics.

picked up the 90g last night in queens and just having it sit there empty in the living room makes me so excited

there are some scratches i would really like to buff out. but i am very pleased.

the stand needs some minor work like a back, sides and front doors. :biglaugh:. in no time it will start looking like a gem. i just can't decide whether to put it in my room(where i like my tanks for viewing pleasure) or in the front hall(where i don't spend much time). the tank will fit in my room no problem but i'm just afraid of having something this large in my room.

here is the plan so far...

1)decide where to put the 90g

2)fill 1/2 or 3/4 w/ RODI

3)mix in salt. leave for a day at least

4)add 80lbs of dead sand and seed w/ at least 5-10lbs of LS

5)add LR

6)add corals and fish

there is one thing that i still haven't given much thought and that is my canopy. i have the lights but no canopy to house them.

he kris

i don't see myself making a canopy. i will most likely buy one. it's gonna be tough because i would like a canopy to work the way i want. i think most reefers have to take the canopy off or move it in order to feed or work in their tanks. i would like my canopy to raise using air hinges?? or whatever it's called.

i guess i could make one. the problem is that i don't have the necessary tools. i just have a jigsaw and cutting straight w/ that thing is not doable. at least not for me. if i had a power saw i would give it a try. also wood is very expensive here in the city. the local hardware stores try to rob you all the time
