Randy,

I couldn't get the box from work so I instead decided to donate one to you anyway :). This will be my gift to your project. I will also help you to modify it so that there are no dangling wires and it will look as nice as possible. We will also be venting the box for heat build up. This will be a cool and fun mod..

I will need to know how many ballasts and any other power supply you plan on placing inside so I can get any additional parts.

PM me for details.

Randy, that stand looks awesome!

Kasei, also, what kind of disconnects are you going to use for the lights? I can get "powercon" connectors from work for pretty cheap. I'm getting 3 for my tank. Here's what they look like.

Master,

This is the box I am talking about.

It is great because it is blast proof and water proof. It wont rust and you can modify it anyway you want to with any type connectors.

BC,

It all depends on what he is using. I think Randy is going to be using 4 of the Icecap DE pendants. They use IEC320 connections (PC Monitor cables ;)) so all we would have to do is buy the cables and drill holes for bushing connectors and those would be the quick disconnects.

If he wants to place the 660 ballast in thier also them these would be great as a disconnect.

Depending on how many bulbs he is going to use, he would only need up to 2 of them. These are waterproof and rust proof. They are mountable also.

It can be a cool DIY box but it just takes a few parts and some time to make. This is how I have mine. I will take a picture of mine later and post. I am also upgrading mine to incorporate a few ideas that i have for Randy's box.

All of this is up to him though. I am just throwing ideas out there.

Today Randy came over and we drilled his sump!

One: mark circle and drill pilot hole:

Two: Start cutting. Use lots of water, and don't get the power tools wet. I use a piece of airline tubing and put the bucket above where I'm working.

Three: Check to see you're still in the lines.

Four: A hole, dear Liza.

Five: Put the bulkhead in. (some small hole adjustment necessary sometimes)

Six:
Repeat 2 more times, clean it up and ta-da!
