The front glass has such a nice blue tint to it. I can't wait to see this thing lit up.
Im about to start dry fitting the plumbing.
Black background came out great and really should help my photos pop.
One thing I am not gonna miss about my bowfront is the lousy pictures.

tagging along, i have a 57 rimless coming along. i bought a used oceanic illuminata because of the glass thickness (3/8" easier for mp10 to stick) and smaller overflow box.

everything is looking good.

Thanks. It wasn't hard to drill at all especially the second hole once I got the hang of it. Make sure you have a battery powered drill with a clutch. I set the clutch to 4 and put the drill speed on low. I went as fast as the drill would go on the low setting. Keep it lubricated and cool with water and stop every 20 seconds to let the bit cool down. Make sure the bottom glass isn't tempered.

Thanks man.
Well the temp creeped up 3 degrees in about 6 hours so I pulled the plug on the t5s and the radions are now back on the tank. I was getting some crazy colors from my coral with the t5s. It's been a while since I used some and I forgot how crip the light looks. Not to mention less hard on the eyes, my LEDs give me headaches sometimes. Some corals however do look better under LEDs.

Some comparison shots

Usually LED photos don't look so hot...but I would choose the radion pics over the t5 any day!

I have a slim window from around 4-5pm in my lighting schedule where I can capture the colors really nice with LEDs.
Any other time of day and the blue is over powering.

I am with you though, overall I think led light is better, granted I had to raise my LEDs to around 14" off the water to closely match the spread of the t5.
