question for all you wood workers out there?

Hey guys,

I Stole the below pic from Glass cages for a sample to my question. I would like to build a stand similar the this out of Ply. now for the question:
Would this stand be strong enough to hold a 100g sgaure tank with this type of door cut outs on 3 sides?

I would like to have Maximize the amount i have in the stand (for the largest sump possible) and have access to everything from each viewing side.

Let me know what you guys think.

You would be surprised how strong plywood is when holding weight perpendicular. I think your stand design will be fine. Use different protection for the floor. I used those sliders which conveniently come 3/4" X 6" so I lined the whole perimeter of my stand with them. Also, make the stand taller to help you tier all your equipment that you hope to fit in there.
Very nice size tank. I like the dimensions.
Yes, a snapper can function up side down. Problem my be your penductor idea. Snappers are flow biased and when placed in pressure applications (penductors/eductors are pressure rated devices) they may dial themselves down, which is great because it reduces the wattage they use, but it will render your penductors useless. Even at top flow, I don't think a snapper has the flow for 4 penductors.

Ok... so if the snapper is not a good with enductors then what do you think will work? Keep in mind that the OM Super squirt can only handle up to 2400 gph?

btw... thank you for pointing that out. just another thing I had no clue about.

I missed where you said you are going to use an OM. Breaking up the flow between 2 penductors with a snapper may work, but I don't think you will see a tremendous difference you would see if you were to use a pressure rated pump.
If I were you, I'd stick with the snapper. That in itself is a good amount of flow for a 100 gallon cube. It's a great pump. Try it with the penductors and try it without them. Worst case scenario, you can call reef exotics and have him get you a dart impeller. The snapper and dart are the same pump, just a different impeller.

New spec sheet

Fritz... Not a problem at all. actually can you do the same with this spec sheet?

Here is the new spec sheet. I changed the close loop drain from a 2" drain in front of the overflow to 2 - 1" drains that flank the overflow. let me know what you think.
